“I inherited my father’s business when he retired in 2002 at the age of 65. Up until that point, my brothers and I had worked for our dad so we didn’t need any employees. But when my dad retired, my brothers wanted to branch out and do something different. So in 2004 I bought out their interests in the business.

At this point, I needed to hire employees for the first time. It took me a long time to find employees that I could fully trust and that understood my business. And when I found them, I knew that I had to provide for them in a way that allowed my company to stay competitive and make sure that my employees wouldn’t leave for a better offer.

Finding an employee benefits package that I could afford but that also met the needs of my employees was stressful for me. I honestly didn’t even know where to start, or who could answer the questions I had. A friend of mine who owns a small furniture store suggested Peter at Continuum II as a good source to help me find, evaluate, and implement an employee benefits plan.

When I explained the situation to Peter, I felt like he was really taking the time to understand my business needs and my concerns around benefits plans. We met the next week and Peter brought me a variety of plans to look at. He took the time to walk me through each of the options, explaining the benefits and potential implications of each. He gave me all the information and made sure I understood each of the plans, but ultimately let me make the final decision, which I appreciated.
